DT Polio Vaccine - 1982  1983   1984 - Connaught

Indications: Prevention of diphtheria, tetanus, and poliomyelitis, for recall doses only in children and adolescents- not for primary immunization.

Adverse Effects: General reactions are rare. Mild local reactions may be encountered. Epinephrine HCI 1:1000 should be available for immediate use in case an anaphylactic or acute hypersensitivity reaction occurs.

Dosage: Inject subcutaneously near the insertion of the deltoid muscle. Reinforcing doses only: 5 to 15 years of age: 1 ml for children previously immunized against diphtheria, tetanus and poliomyelitis at intervals of about 5 years; over 15 years: 0.5 ml for children who have previously been immunized against diphtheria, tetanus and poliomyelitis within the previous 3 to 5 years or have had a reinforcing dose within the same period. Adults (18 years of age and over), use 1 ml Tetanus-Polio vaccine.

Supplied: Each ml contains: a purified and concentrated trivalent, formalin-inactivated poliomyelitis vaccine containing 10 Lf diphtheria toxoid and 10 Lf tetanus toxoid. Preparation is cherry-red in color due to presence of phenol red indicator. Available in 10 ml vials and 5 x 1 ml ampoules. Store at 2° to 5°C. Do not freeze.
